Highlighted Activities for March 2025

WINTER schedules for fight practices are in full swing! Tuesday socials will still be held on weekday evenings at the VFW Hall, but thrown weapons and archery activities have moved to Sundays. Armored (heavy) combat, rapier, and youth armored combat are sharing WINTER practice space indoors at the Silverdale Lutheran Church, on Tuesdays starting at 6pm. Check Facebook for last-minute updates or cancellations due to weather.

The Scribal Guild usually meets in a private home on the 2nd Thursday and 4th Friday of the month, and the Culinary guild typically alternates between the 4th Thursday and Saturday. The Barony does not publish the location of private homes; to get the address, please contact the Guild heads via email.

March 4Baronial Business & Financial Meeting indoors at VFW Post 4992 – doors open at 6pm, starts at 6:30pm. These meetings are open to anyone. Learn what’s happening in the Barony! 
March 8-9KINGDOM EVENT. The Kingdom Arts & Sciences and Queen’s Rapier Championship will be held in Ocean Shores, WA. More info on the Kingdom calendar and Facebook.
March 11Tuesday Social at the VFW starting at 6pm and … Youth activities. And Youth armored combat (“Yak”) armor fitting.

March 15NEARBY EVENT. The Shamrock Tourney & Artisan Village, the Barony of Glymm Mere’s annual demo, will be in Olympia. Details on Facebook.
March 18Tuesday Social at the VFW and … Class: Intro to Banner Making by HL Posiedonous Lakon. This class will be continued at A&S Day Camp on the 22nd.
March 22BARONIAL ACTIVITY: Spring Arts & Sciences Day Camp will be held in Bremerton, WA. We have 14 classes lined up, plus drop-in space to bring your own project and be social. Info on our website
March 25Tuesday Social at the VFW and 4th Tuesday Bardic night. This is a drop-in activity, and all skill levels are welcome. Bring what you’re working on, test out your piece in front of a small audience, and/or practice with the group.

The Baronial Chatelaine, Aoife Aileanach heraldic device for Aoife Aileanach is looking for people from Dragon’s Laire to give short lectures and vignettes on various subjects of the SCA. “I’m basically looking for an extension of what we have on display at June Faire (costume making, cooking info, weaving, spinning, metal work, archery equipment, etc).” These could be 15-min talks, just enough to give new members an introduction.
