WINTER schedules for fight practices are in full swing! Tuesday socials will still be held on weekday evenings at the VFW Hall, but please notice that we have some holiday-related cancellations this month. All combat activities have moved to Sundays. Check Facebook for last-minute updates or cancellations due to weather (or holidays).
The Scribal Guild usually meets in a private home on the 2nd Thursday and 4th Friday of the month, and the Culinary guild typically alternates between the 4th Thursday and Saturday — inquire privately of the Guild heads for more details.

Dec. 10 | Tuesday social at the VFW hall. Class 1 of 2 on flax production by HL Sigridr Vilhjalmsdottir, starting at 6:30pm. This first class will be about how to grow flax: growing, harvesting, retting, breaking and combing the fibers. All the things before spinning! The second class will be held Jan. 14, 2025. |

Classes to look forward to:
- 1/14/2025: 2nd class on flax production: The second class will be how to dress a distaff and how to start to spin the fibers. Sigridr will show what they have learned so far and give attendees an opportunity to try it for themselves.
- 1/21/2025: Writing award recommendations
- Banner making (multiple sessions)
- Start-to-finish tunic-making (multiple sessions)

The Baronial Chatelaine, Aoife Aileanach is looking for people from Dragon’s Laire to give short lectures and vignettes on various subjects of the SCA. “I’m basically looking for an extension of what we have on display at June Faire (costume making, cooking info, weaving, spinning, metal work, archery equipment, etc).” These could be 15-min talks, just enough to give new members an introduction.
