Tuesday Social Special Activities for February

Click here if you need the address — or other details about our weekly gatherings and martial practices.

WINTER schedules are in effect for weekly fighter practices — see https://dragonslaire.antir.org/wordpress/events/#Weekly_Social_Fighter_Practices for more information. Remember that Heavy (Armored) Combat and Rapier practices are still on Tuesday nights, BUT they are at an alternate INDOOR location– at the Kitsap Fairgrounds Sheep Barn (map). Archery and Thrown Weapons on Sunday are dependent on the weather, so always check Facebook for last-minute updates.

KINGDOM EVENT on the weekend of March 1–3. The Kingdom of An Tir’s annual Arts & Sciences Championship and Queen’s Rapier Championship will be held in Portland. More info on the kingdom calendar.

As winter turns to spring, come join us for more indoor classes, games, and camaraderie. We look forward to these yet-to-be-scheduled activities:

  • Domina Alys Graye, OP, will guide a Q&A forum on “Inkle Weaving 911”.
  • Countess Elisabeth de Rossignol has been formulating plans on clothing construction.
  • Marquessa Laurellen du Brandevin has been contemplating a satchel class, including both construction and embroidery.

We would sincerely love to host more Arts and Sciences activities in the upcoming months. They do NOT have to be simply ‘classes’. They can be lectures, demonstrations, round tables, interactive discussion. The possibilities are endless. Let me know if you have ideas in mind. I will help you make them a reality.

You can reach Master Arontius in our unofficial baronial Facebook group or at DragonsLaire.ArtNSci@AnTir.org

Reminder: The Baronial Chatelaine, Halldora Bjorn heraldic device for Halldora Bjorn is looking for people from Dragon’s Laire to give short lectures and vignettes on various subjects of the SCA. “I’m basically looking for an extension of what we have on display at June Faire (costume making, cooking info, weaving, spinning, metal work, archery equipment, etc).” She is envisioning 15-min talks, just enough to give new members an introduction. If you are available and willing to give a short presentation, please contact DragonsLaire.Chatelaine@AnTir.org .
