Read the paper for answers and you&#8217;ll know a little about the best town in England!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why \u2013 Hi, Aelianora (x 2)! and Cicely!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What\/Where \u2013 way up north (from London)!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constraints on the Archaeological and Visible\/Existing Record in Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boom!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geography\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A river, plateaus, burns, sides, stairs, steps and more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-Historic Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Really, it was there.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>But what did it do?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roman Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I&#8217;m a gonna make a bridge, and name it after me, you plebs!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ok, maybe you, the soldiers, are gonna make the bridge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And the fort, and the vicus, the wall, the market\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anglo-Saxon Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Huh?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Burials, and right in your face, old Roman fort!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Norman\/Medieval Newcastle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Castle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>So that&#8217;s why it&#8217;s &#8216;New&#8217; Castle\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Never mind right in your face, right on TOP of you, old Roman fort!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait, when was this &#8216;new&#8217; castle build? NEW? Ohhh yea, old Roman fort!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trade\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All kinds of trade\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wool, baaaaaa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait, Coal?? that early??<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Quayside \u2013 Town Development\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ballast from where?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What&#8217;s a chare?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait, when was this done??<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Housing and Land Plots\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Burgage, buuuuuurrrrrrrrrrgage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill that burn, dump that midden<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Timber framed?
